My connection with rocks, minerals and plants was fostered exploring the landscape along the St. Lawrence River in Northern NY.  The Adirondack Mountain range offered many opportunities for connecting with nature; providing access to rock hunting, hiking trails and aesthetic native wildflowers.  This beautiful, grounding environment is engrained in my soul and a place everyone should experience during their lifetime! 

My earliest memories of aromatherapy and scientific exploration began in childhood, experimenting with local plants and creating “medicinal” blends in a 1970s orange Tupperware dish. Each preparaton was crafted with intention, healing and a driven curiousity! I cared for everything from Barbies to neighborhood pets. My childhood cats were especially tolerant.

In the early 1990s, I obtained a B.A. in Biology with a dual minor in Art History and English Literature from Ithaca College, NY. The Finger Lakes region enveloped me with incredible geological structures and waterfalls; continuing my connection to mother earth. I later completed my M.S. in Biology specializing in Molecular and Cellular Biology at Bowling Green State University (BGSU) in OH and worked at a start up Biotech company in Toledo, OH.  My path led me into the drug development industry and furthering my education in Clinical Research Administration from Eastern Michigan University.  While I maintained my connection with the Sciences, I felt disconnected from my creative side.   

In 2007, I discovered essential oils. I rejuvenated my self-care routine along with my love of art, gardening and use of rocks and minerals.  Each oil’s chemistry and their impact of the physical body and its energy system was intriguing.  I studied to become a Certified Clinical Aromatherapist in 2016, a Certified Crystal Healer and Ordained Holistic Minister in 2020. Additional course work led me to a Certification in Integrated Energy Therapy (IET) and I am now an IET Master Instructor.
